Police name cyclist killed in collision with van

A cyclist who died in hospital following a collision with a van has been named.

Jack Pearson, 73, of Springdale Road, Market Weighton, suffered serious head injuries in the accident on February 9 and was airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary, where he died on Saturday.

The occupant of the Vauxhall Vivaro, a 37-year-old Leeds woman, was not hurt. Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident at 10.20am, on the A164 near the Shiptonthorpe roundabout.
