Last night detectives were continuing to question a 19-year-old Leeds man who was arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder. A post-mortem revealed Mr Rodgers had died of multiple stab wounds.

Yesterday his family released a tribute to the young father.

"Known as 'Sean Oge' to his family, he was a wonderful, dad, son, grandson and so much more to his large and loving family," they said.

"He was quiet, inoffensive and a popular young man. He adored his daughter who is a real daddy's girl.

"Known as 'Swell' to his friends, he was the life and soul of any party and always made everyone laugh. He had lots of friends and loved the attention of the girls!

"The manner of his death was tragic and has left a void in the lives of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed."

Stanningley bypass had to be closed in both directions for 16 hours on Monday.

Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses particularly anyone who may have seen anything in the early hours of Monday around the bypass and near the Morrisons car park in Bramley.
