Police name two teenagers killed in East Yorkshire crash

Police have named two teenagers killed when a car crashed into a tree on Tuesday.

Levi Dickinson, 16, from Selby, and Rhogan Jones, 17, from Goole, were passengers in a green Volkswagen Polo which left the road near Howden.

Both teenagers suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene on Tuesday evening.

Humberside Police said the driver of the car, a 19-year-old man, sustained minor injuries.

He was arrested on suspicion of death by careless or inconsiderate driving and has been released on police bail while the investigation continues.

Specially trained traffic officers are now supporting the families of the teenagers.

The collision happened on Barnhill Lane, close to the junction with the B1228 Boothferry Road and Main Street junction, at 8.15pm.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the way the Volkswagen Polo was being driven before the crash, is asked to call police on 101, quoting log 547 of 07/02/17.
