Police name woman who suffered fatal injuries after being hit by truck

Police have named a woman who died last week after being knocked down in a North Yorkshire market town.

Mildred Horner was involved in a collision with a red tipper truck in Northallerton last week.

The 89-year-old, who lived in Thirsk Road, suffered serious injuries to her leg and later died at James Cook Hospital.

Police today said the 51-year-old driver of the lorry has been spoken to as a voluntary attendee.

However, officers still want to speak to anyone with information on the collision.

It took place at the Thirsk Road roundabout near Tesco and the library shortly before 10am on Tuesday.
