Police officer in court over sex-on-duty charge

Pc Simon Jones appeared at Nottingham Crown Court charged with abuse of duty.

No address was given for the officer,
who appeared in the dock with a full
beard and wearing a grey suit and pale grey tie.

The offence is alleged to have taken place while the officer was serving with Nottinghamshire Police in March.

The 32-year-old, who was based at Worksop police station, has been suspended from duty, a force spokeswoman said.

Jones was bailed to return to Nottingham Crown Court on October 12.
