A man being sought by police in connection with the murder of a 21-year-old woman at a house in Bradford is her husband.

Ridda Zanab, whose body was found at a house in Alford Terrace, Lidget Green, died from head injuries.

Police discovered her body at 3.25am on Monday following a call from a member of the public who was concerned about her safety.

Yesterday a senior detective appealed for public help in tracking down Mrs Zanab’s husband and father of her two-month-old daughter.

Danish Irfan, 21, from Bradford, may have travelled to Manchester but could be anywhere in the UK.

It is possible that he might be trying to get to Pakistan.

Mr Irfan is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and slim.

Police have appealed directly to Mr Irfan to contact police.

Detective Superintendent Mark Ridley, who is the leading the murder inquiry, said: “We are appealing to anyone who might have seen Mr Irfan since Sunday and to anyone who might have information about his whereabouts.

“Similarly, if Mr Irfan sees or hears this appeal himself, I would ask that he makes contact with us.

“At this time it is believed that he could be anywhere in the UK and may be trying to leave the country.”

Mr Ridley urged people not to approach Mr Irfan.

“Members of the public are urged not to approach Mr Irfan but to call police immediately if they think they have seen him.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101
