Police questioning suspect over assault in Leeds after man taken to hospital

A man has been taken to hospital after being assaulted in Leeds earlier today.

Police were called to an address in Hollyshaw Lane, Whitkirk, at around 12.50pm.

The victim, a 19-year-old man, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment.

A police spokesman said the man's injuries were not life-threatening.

He said officers had arrested a 26-year-old man, who remains in custody while the investigation continues.

A cordon has also been put in place until forensic work has been completed at the scene.
