Police quiz man over fatal attack

A 43-year-old man is being questioned by police after a woman died following an attack outside her home in Driffield.

The 30-year-old – described as a caring mother with a two-year-old son –died at the scene.

Emergency services were called to Clematis Close in Driffield just before 6pm on Wednesday evening.

Officers arrested the man, from Grimsby, at the scene. Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the attack.

Senior investigating officer Chief Insp Steve Hibbitt said: "Officers are currently working to ascertain the last known movements of the victim and personal circumstances."
