Police quiz man over fatal attack
A Grimsby man was last night charged with a murder in Clematis Close, Driffield, on Monday night.
Alfredo George Merigo, of Weelsby Street, Grimsby, will appear before Beverley magistrates this morning.
The victim has not yet been named by the police but was said to be a 30-year-old woman with a two-year-old son who died following an attack outside her home just before 6 pm on Wednesday evening.
Merigo was arrested at the scene.
Yesterday police said they were working to ascertain the last known movements of the victim and investigating her personal circumstances.
