The BD5 pilot project was launched in January this year to encourage people to take a stand and report drug-related incidents within their neighbourhood.

West Bowling Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector Darren Minton said: “Under this initiative, we joined forces with local primary schools, Bradford Council, Crimestoppers, My BD5, Bradford Trident as well as local faith groups.

“Through myth-busting leaflets delivered directly to residents and a series of high-profile information events we looked to encourage more people to come forward and tell us about drug related offences. By March, we found that anonymous information being passed to Crimestoppers had increased by 30 per cent compared to the same time the previous year.”
