Police seek man ‘on run’ as women face court accused of double murder

TWO women appeared in court yesterday accused of murdering two men whose bodies were found by the side of a country lane as detectives appealed for help tracing a man they also want to interview.

Detectives said yesterday they want to speak to Mohammed Zubair in connection with the investigation. It is thought he could have fled the country.

Shahbzada Muhammed Imran, 27, of Bradford, and Ahmedin Sayed Khyel, 35, of London, were found dead on New Lane, Tong, in Bradford, last Tuesday night.

Both had suffered serious head injuries.

Arab Sultana, 63, and Kainet Bibi, 27, both of Heath Terrace, Bradford, appeared at Bradford Magistrates Court accused of the men’s murder.

The women – who are mother-in-law and daughter-in-law – are also charged with destroying or concealing forensic evidence.

Both were remanded in custody and are due to appear before Bradford Crown Court today.

Det Supt Dick Nuttall said: “As part of our investigations, we want to speak to 31-year-old Mohammed Zubair. Our inquiries suggest Zubair left the country on Wednesday, May 11.”

He appealed for anyone with information to contact the police incident room on 01924 334693.
