Police seize cannabis worth over £300,000

CANNABIS with a street value of more than £300,000 has been seized during a series of police raids in Doncaster.

Over a six-week period, officers recovered the drug from five separate properties.

The biggest haul was at two properties in Stone Close Avenue, Hexthorpe. Police found 258 plants in one property and 345 in a second, together worth around £181,000.

Three men have been arrested, charged with cannabis production and remanded.

Temporary detective inspector Steve Leach said: “Drugs have an impact on the lives of residents and the removal of such a large quantity of drugs will hopefully improve their quality of life.”
