Police sift Claudia clues after TV plea

DETECTIVES are analysing information supplied following a national appeal to mark the third anniversary of Claudia Lawrence’s disappearance.

The appeal was screened on the BBC’s Crimewatch programme on Tuesday evening in the latest bid to establish what happened to the York University chef. North Yorkshire Police confirmed yesterday that a total of nine calls had been received and the information will be fed into the incident team for “further investigation”.

Miss Lawrence’s parents, Peter and Joan, who are divorced, have both conducted high-profile interviews to mark the third anniversary of their daughter’s disappearance in the hope of bringing in a key piece of information.

Miss Lawrence was aged 35 when she was last seen walking near her Heworth Road home in York on March 18, 2009.

The missing person inquiry was upgraded to a murder investigation the month after she vanished, but detectives have failed to find any trace of her.
