Police step up patrols after gunshots fired at Huddersfield home

Police have stepped up patrols in Huddersfield after gunshots were fired at the door of a home.

The shots were fired between 11pm and midnight on Sunday at a property in The Ghyll.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV footage of the incident to come forward.

No-one was injured and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Jaz Kahn, of the Firearms Prevent Team, said: "Specialist firearms officers are working with colleagues in Kirklees to investigate this firearms discharge, in which no-one was injured.

"We fully understand the anxiety such an incident can cause in communities and we local NPT officers are providing extra patrols in the area today."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
