Business ambassador role given to Skipton MP

SKIPTON and Ripon MP Julian Smith is to take on a new role linking small businesses in Yorkshire with the Prime Minister.

David Cameron has appointed 12 Conservative MPs to represent and promote small businesses across the country.

Mr Smith said: “Having set up, run and grown a business I know just how challenging it can be so I will be doing all I can to ensure the messages I hear from Yorkshire’s small businesses are represented to the Government.”

The Prime Minister added: “With this team we will be able to create greater awareness of Government offers and listen to the business community so that we can continue to improve what we are already doing.

“Nothing represents this aspiration more than British small business owners.”

West Suffolk MP Matthew Hancock will be the party’s Small Business Champion.
