Cameron's honours in full: Nods for George Osborne and Samantha's stylist

Craig Oliver, director of communications at Number 10 under David Cameron, and Andrew Cook, the former treasurer of the Conservatives, have also been recognised in the list.

The revelation comes after mounting criticism that Mr Cameron used his resignation honours to reward his political allies.

The full list, which was published on Thursday evening, also confirms that Samantha Cameron’s stylist Isabel Spearman will receive an OBE for political and public service.

Some 46 people have been included in the honours list, which also states that Will Straw, executive director of the Britain Stronger in Europe campaign which led the failed campaign against leaving the EU, will get a CBE for political and public service.

Helen Bower-Easton, the Prime Minister’s spokeswoman, will also receive a CBE while Mr Cameron’s former speechwriter Julian Glover will get an OBE as will Alan Sendorek, Mr Cameron’s former head of political press.

Mr Cameron’s honours list, which was leaked to the Sunday Times, has reignited the row over whether the honours should be used to reward political loyalty.

Opposition MPs have called for the system to be reformed while Mr Cameron has been accused of cronyism and rewarding failure.

Mr Cameron’s former policy guru Steve Hilton has also hit out at the list, branding it a “serious type of very British corruption” and a “symptom of a corrupt and decaying democracy”.

Conservative Party donor and Vitol Oil boss Ian Taylor, who was reportedly being considered for a knighthood but asked his name not to be put forward, does not appear on the honours list.

And while Mr Cameron has made 13 new peers, they do not include former Tory Party treasurer and founder of the interdealer broker Icap Michael Spencer.

The former PM has reportedly tried three times to appoint Mr Spencer to the upper house but has been blocked after his firm Icap became embroiled in the Libor fixing scandal, although there is no suggestion Mr Spencer was personally implicated.
