Ms Peacock is the GMB union’s political officer in the West Midlands and was Labour’s candidate in the Halesowen constituency in the 2015 election.

Mr Dugher successfully defended the seat in 2015 with a majority of more than 12,000 votes.

He announced last week he would not be contesting it again at the coming election, having represented the area since 2010.
