Names sought in hunt for a Legend

Blue plaques bearing the name of the current Sheffield Legends, including Sean Bean, Jarvis Cocker and Michael Palin, are installed in the pavement outside the Town Hall in Pinstone Street.

Only a few days remain to nominate the latest celebrity, who should have been born in or have a strong connection to Sheffield, before the final decision is made by a panel of judges.

The Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Coun Alan Law, said: “You now have an opportunity to nominate those who have brought recognition to Sheffield at national or international level.

“We already have some wonderful Legends in our walk of fame and there are several personalities who have a strong claim to join them.

“I hope everyone will send in their favourite local heroes to make our Sheffield Legends truly representative of the celebrities from many walks of life associated with this city.”
