New direct route to Copenhagen

AIR passengers will be able to fly direct to Copenhagen from the Humber for the first time next week.

Scandinavian Airlines will launch the five-flight-a-week service from Humberside Airport to the Danish capital next Monday.

SAS’s regional general manager Western Europe Hans Dyhrfort said: “This is a major milestone for SAS, as we will start providing the only non-stop, direct service to Scandinavia from the Humber, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire region. With the area on its way to becoming the renewable energy capital of the UK, the Humber region is an important northern hub and area of development for SAS.”

Aimed at business travellers, flights will depart 7.15pm, arriving in Copenhagen at 9.50pm local time. Weekday flights from Copenhagen will take off at 6.10pm local time, arriving in Humberside at 6.45pm.

A 50-seater CRJ200 regional jet aircraft will operate the service from Humberside which last year was sold to the Eastern Group, which also owns Humberside-based Eastern Airways. Fares start from £103 one way.
