Ukip confronts Labour on living cost

THE UK Independence Party challenged Ed Miliband over the cost of living with the launch of a new poster in the Labour leader’s Doncaster North constituency today.

Ukip deputy leader Paul Nuttall unveiled the poster in Bentley claiming food bills would be £400 cheaper if the UK left the European Union.

Mr Miliband has made the cost-of-living the centrepiece of Labour’s strategy.

Mr Nuttall said: “If he was serious about getting down the cost of living he would advocate Ukip’s policy of withdrawal but he won’t.”

In addition to contesting the European elections, Ukip is fielding a large number of candidates in the local elections including every ward in Doncaster and neighbouring Rotherham where the party already has a council seat.

The poster is the latest in a series funded by Yorkshire businessman Paul Sykes.
