Video: Plastic banknotes make debut in Leeds

The Bank of England has put together a proposal to swap paper banknotes with ‘plastic’ ones.

Today it brought its consultation roadshow to Leeds’s White Rose Centre.

If the Bank goes ahead with its plans, the new-look polymer notes could be in circulation by as early as 2016.
