Yorkshire bids for major slice of £950m fund

MORE than 50 Yorkshire projects are bidding for funding from the Government to boost the region’s economy.

Dozens of bids have been submitted for some of the £950m available from the second round of the Regional Growth Fund, which aims to support the creation of private sector jobs in regions outside London and the South East. If all the bids are successful the projects could create thousands of jobs and draw in millions of pounds of private investment, although the fund is likely to be over-subscribed.
