The Yorkshire Post says: Thank you, NHS. The gratitude of cancer patients

CREDIT where credit is due. Though the NHS, like any large organisation, attracts its fair share of criticism, the overwhelming majority of patients are content with the care that they receive.

Given this, it would be remiss not to acknowledge new figure which show that satisfaction with cancer care has reached a record high. This would not be possible without the professionalism and expertise of all staff from GP surgeries to world-leading surgeons working in the region’s hospital.

There are countless people who owe their lives to the quality of treatment now available – and this newspaper is only too happy to place their gratitude on the record. And it’s encouraging that the NHS wants to improve still further. Hopefully this includes an early end to the postcode lottery which denies some Yorkshire patients the care that others receive routinely.
