Prime Minister Theresa May says Brexit means Brexit.

WHY is it that every time I read a newspaper, switch on the news or watch a current affair programme the political commentators are so very negative about Brexit?

They forecast gloom and gloom at every turn with anything to do with finance, banking, manufacturing, farming or any form of production or jobs.

They paint a very bleak picture.

These are obviously the people who have been taken out of their comfort zone.

If we continue to listen to the gloom mongers, they will talk us into recession.

We have now the opportunity to expand our trade in a much larger world market giving us the opportunity to expand and grow across the globe.

This will be without the restrictions of the undemocratic and restrictive practices of the European Union, a body which has created mass unemployment across Europe.

THERE is a very simple way to cut immigration once we have rid ourselves of the shackles of the EU, and that is to immediately repeal the European Courts of Humans Rights Act and refuse benefits from immigrant applicants who have not made a contribution to the system.

The main reason immigrants, both legal and illegal, make for here is the overgenerous welfare system which gives them both money and housing ahead of our own struggling young people.

From: John Appleyard, Firthcliffe Parade, Liversedge.

INSTEAD of judging Tory Prime Minister Theresa May as a woman, we should be looking at her policies.

In her first days in charge, her government has brought in policies to force struggling families needing welfare support to call a premium rate number.

It is difficult enough as it is living on disability benefits without being charged 45p a minute to call the Department of Work and Pensions.

Theresa May has also abolished the Department for Energy and Climate Change, a signal that the post-Brexit UK will be a disaster for the environment. Mrs May has ignored a Government report that urgent action is needed to protect Britain from flooding.

Theresa May and her Cabinet are shaping up to be nothing less than an environmental wrecking crew.
