YP Letters: Don't let this nation become a region of federal Germany

The Germans have had territorial aspirations to the domination of Europe, and
the world, since the 19th
century.

Having not achieved this by waging two world wars in most recent times, they have decided to do this by stealth. If we vote to stay in the EU we shall be subsumed by them. Aided and abetted by France, we will become a region of a federal Germany.

WHAT a good article from Lord Dobbs (The Yorkshire Post, May 14). In the UK, we are very rigidly controlled by taxation regulation.

Contrast this with the EU in its present form where the accounts have not been signed off for many years, indicating its auditors are dissatisfied with the situation. Anyone investing in a business should wish to see the balance sheet. Without being furnished with such details, only a No vote would be sensible.

From: V Lloyd, Westfield Crescent, Kirkhamgate, Wakefield.

READING all the ifs and buts of the argument regarding the EU is, to me, a waste of time. Members of all parties want to retain their power over the rest of us, forgetting that our generation have been through it all before and know that the other EU members aren’t concerned about us, only our contribution concerns them. Even those who failed to get in our Parliament found their way into the EU. There’s only one way and that is out.

From: Sue Doughty, Twyford, Reading, Berkshire.

A VOTE to leave does not carry as many risks as a vote to remain. These islands will stay put no matter what, but we the need freedom to progress like a forest needs sunshine and fresh air.

I DESPAIR that 78 per cent of respondents believe that
“Boris Johnson was right to compare the EU to Adolf
Hitler” (The Yorkshire Post, May 17).

From: Keith Punshon, Dalton.

IT’S not about migration, nor the economy , nor security....reasonable free nations can come to a mutually beneficial deal, and this country can grasp a great international future if we were allowed to make our own policies.

It is about our freedom.
