THE UK’s fishing grounds were given away by Tory PM Ted Heath for nothing, and without consulting the British people. Given the referendum vote to Leave, the EU no longer has a right to our coastal fishing.

Every independent nation with a coast is entitled under international (UN) law to its own exclusive economic sea zone. Consequently that cannot be part of any negotiations.

So the UK Government could now unilaterally abolish our membership of the EU’s failed Common Fisheries Policy, and re-establish our own national 200 mile offshore fishing rights.

We are tired of 40 years of promises to reform the EU; reforms that never happen. Every Leave voter in the General Election will be aware that simply taking our rights as an independent nation is better than some compromise deal hatched in Brussels.

Giving away our sovereignty to the EU is the easy bit; taking power back, while remaining in the EU as the Lib Dems advocate, is impossible.

We can start with the immediate recovery of our fishing rights.

If the LibLabCon Remain politicians obstruct that, and refuse to put the UK first, we must replace them at this General Election.
