YP Letters: Stop the brainwashing over diesel vehicles

From: DS Boyes, Upper Rodley Lane, Leeds.
Diesel vehicles are being blamed for pollution levels.Diesel vehicles are being blamed for pollution levels.
Diesel vehicles are being blamed for pollution levels.

WHEN will people realise
that the present unprecedented demonising of diesel vehicles and their owners is nothing more than an almost subliminal campaign to brainwash
us into accepting a whole raft of new and higher taxes on
diesel fuel?

This includes on the vehicles themselves and of course ‘low emission zones’ in city centres, where as long as you pay money to the local authority concerned you can pollute all you like.

Germany looked into this years ago, via its National Institute for Energy and Environmental Research, and found after exhaustive trials and tests, including temporary bans on HGVs in town centres, that diesels were not to blame.

The main source of particulate pollution being dust from tyres, brake pads and disks, with only a small amount attributable to diesel-powered HGVs or the modern petrol engines polluting more!

But just like climate change, lies, hypocrisy and hysteria will overshadow the true scientific evidence, and politicians always want more revenues, which is the sole reason for this unwarranted attack on diesels.
