Poppy fund collectors visit Number 10

The Prime Minister was amongst the first to contribute to the Royal British Legion's poppy fund this year as the UK prepares to commemorate Armistice Day.

David Cameron received his poppy from Steph Davenport, Ann Bedford and George Farrowon from the Royal British Legion on the steps of Number 10 yesterday. The national launch of the 2010 appeal takes place today at Colchester Garrison.

The event will include a private concert from pop group The Saturdays exclusively for the families and personnel of 16 Air Assault Brigade, who are on operations in Afghanistan. They have sent video messages that will be show to the families attending.
