Poppy Girls hit the right notes

A NEW girl group, who all have parents serving in the armed forces, have recorded this year’s official Poppy appeal single.

The track, The Call (No Need to Say Goodbye), can be ordered on iTunes now.

The Poppy Girls, who include 17-year-old Charlotte Mellor, far right, above, who was born in Northallerton and whose family now live in Wolverhampton, was formed following a worldwide search.

The five-strong group will perform in front of the Queen at the Festival of Remembrance in the Royal Albert Hall on November 9.

Their record is due to go on general sale on Monday November 11.
