Post Office set to reopen on new site

DARNALL Post Office in Sheffield, which was temporarily closed in August last year, is set to reopen in new premises on Tuesday, August 31.

The branch, in Main Street, closed for "operational reasons" and is now set to reopen in Darnall Forum, about 550 yards from its former site.

David Smith, field change adviser at Post Office Ltd, said: "This relocation, which has been possible as a result of a partnership approach with Sheffield Council and Darnall Forum, will help to safeguard our presence in the community in the longer term.

"The new branch will have a new serving counter within modern and spacious premises, with a ramp and handrail at the entrance."

Sheffield Council leader Paul Scriven community assemblies such as the Darnall Forum were "all about getting money and resources to the things that really matter to local people in the different parts of the city".
