Potatoes burned in North Yorks barn fire
More than 1,000 tons of potatoes were destroyed in a barn fire in Carlton Husthwaite, near Thirsk.
The fire at a farm building also destroyed several trailers, a tractor, transit van and other industrial equipment. Fire crews were called to the blaze at the 60mx100m barn by the farmer at just after 10pm and the fire was under control by the early hours of this morning.
