Pride of Royal parents as Princess graduates

PRINCESS Beatrice celebrated her graduation ceremony at Goldsmiths College in London yesterday with her parents by her side.

Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York looked on as the fifth in line to the throne graduated with a 2:1 in history and history of ideas.

The 23-year-old has spent three years at the university in south-east London and now plans to spend the next few months on a number of internships before beginning a career.

Reports said Beatrice wishes to use her position to promote her mother’s two favourite charities, namely Children in Crisis and the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Beatrice was one of 325 graduates at the ceremony and praised the quality of teaching she had received while at Goldsmiths College.

Friends have suggested that she will eventually plump for a job in the fashion industry or perhaps fine arts but royal sources have said they have been given no real indication yet where her career plans lie.

Buckingham Palace has also declined to say whether the Princess, who lives rent free in a taxpayer-funded four-bedroom apartment at St James’s Palace, will ever become a full or even part-time working royal, undertaking official duties on behalf of the Queen.
