Primary school teacher accused of sex offences

A PRIMARY school teacher has appeared in court charged with sex offences against children.

The 31-year-old man, said by North Yorkshire Police to have taught at three primary schools in York, is charged with 23 offences including possessing indecent images of children, voyeurism, making indecent images, sexual touching and sexual activity with a boy under 13.

He appeared before magistrates in York on Friday and is due before the courts again in May.

A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said he had been granted conditional bail to an address outside the county.

He is due to appear again at York Magistrates’ Court for a committal hearing on May 9.

The schools where the man taught cannot be named for legal reasons.

It is understood a letter has been sent out to parents making them aware of the allegations.
