Prime-time personal TV shock for father

A FATHER got the shock of his life when he found himself watching a prime-time TV advert dedicated solely to himself.

Jim Crewdson, 63, from Grimsby, was watching the advert break during Britain's Got Talent last night when a special Father's Day advert came on the screen.

Unbeknown to Mr Crewdson, his daughter, Anna Wilson, had nominated him in a national competition as the country's most deserving Dad.

The advert, which features Ms Wilson, 29, talking to camera telling her dad why she loves him, will be shown dozens of times on national TV. It shows pictures of Mr Crewdson and his children through the years and the personalised Father's Day card chosen by his daughter.

Ms Wilson said: "The fact the advert was shown during Britain's Got Talent seems apt, as he keeps us entertained with singing and his silly antics, like coming out of a different door at the supermarket and upon not seeing his car, reporting it stolen. "He's such a proud dad and granddad, and the fact he always weeps at the big and the small moments in our lives just makes us love him more. It was nerve-wracking taking part in the advert but I wanted him to know how much he means to us."

Jon Taylor, from Bradford-based Hallmark Cards which ran the competition, said: "We chose Jim as the winner as the entry from Anna really stood out."
