Prince 'inspiration to homeless'

Prince William was held up as an "inspiration" to London's young homeless last night.

The 28-year-old Royal told a gathering of philanthropic businesswomen that homelessness was something he felt “passionately” about and praised their efforts in raising cash for the cause.

The event, held in 16th century Middle Temple Hall in central London, raised close to 500,000 for the charity Centrepoint.

After meeting with some of the young people who had been helped by the organisation, the Prince was hailed for his work as its patron.

The chief executive of Centrepoint, Seyi Obakin, said: “The Prince is so good with young people – they find him an inspiration.

“He meets them once and somehow he knows and remembers them.

“He turns up and he cares enough to remember them. That is absolutely inspirational, he does inspire young people.”
