Prince’s home inspires display of innovation

Winner of the innovative garden display was Yorkshire gardener Joe Maiden and his son John, from North Rigton, near Harrogate, for their interpretation of a famous garden.

They chose Highgrove the home of Prince Charles.

Grow with Joe’s display includes the type of fruit and vegetables most used by the chefs at the house and features the famous stumpery which hosts the National Collection of large leaved hostas.

At last year’s spring show they also scooped the prize for their Dig for Victory display. Second at the 2012 show was Brighter Blooms for Keukenhof with Graeme and Pauline Iddon Hardy Plants third for Beatrix Potter’s garden.
