Prison staff go on the run for charity

Armley Prison officers Steve Mardy and Governor Mark Hudson prepare to run in the Steve Prescott Engage Mutual Keep On Running Challenge next week.

They will be joined senior officer Andy Bagnall, 46, and officer Liam Gill, 23, in support of an ultra-marathon challenge by ex-Hull and Wakefield rugby league star Steve Prescott MBE, who is fighting terminal cancer.

They will run alongside him for 15.5miles from Monk Fryston to Headingley via Garforth on day two of his challenge to run four marathons in four days. He wants to raise money for Try Assist, the Leeds-based rugby league benevolent fund and The Christie Hospital, Manchester.
