£10,000 champagne bill claims denied by Palace

Claims by clubbers that Prince Harry spent £10,000 on vintage champagne during a night out partying were denied by St James's Palace yesterday.

The Prince treated his friends and other partygoers to more than 45 bottles of bubbly last Friday as he took a break from military helicopter training, according to the Sun newspaper.

A spokesman confirmed Harry was at the central London nightspot but

said the evening was hosted by a friend and the Prince did not buy drinks.

Mustafa Ahmed, a 21-year-old student from Wood Green, north London, told the newspaper that he saw the Prince buying the bottles of bubbly, at 200 each, for his table of friends.
