£16m plans to transform historic hall finalised
But now the big question is whether the Heritage Lottery Fund will provide the funds to make it happen.
If everything goes to plan, the alterations and improvements to the down-at-heel building should begin in October 2013 and the project completed by autumn 2015.

Apart from restoring the 220-year-old structure, the biggest visual change will be to the courtyard, a large part of which will be levelled and paved and sets relaid around the edge.
As well as a fountain and outdoor seating, designers want to install play equipment in two corners, put glass doors on the shops and improve the stairs.
In addition they want to put in an interpretation centre, so people can learn about the Piece Hall’s varied history.

Hide AdCalderdale Council leader Janet Battye said it was vital to give the building “a truly sustainable” future.
She added: “This scheme is the council’s top priority.
“We are really hoping lots of people will look at the plans and give us their views on what is being proposed.
“We will listen to them.”
The council’s community services director Robin Tuddenham said what was being proposed had been compared to Covent Garden in London.
“But we want the Piece Hall to be something more than that.” he said.
