£40,000 horse painting stolen from storeroom

POLICE are appealing for help in tracing a £40,000 painting that has gone missing from a private address in East Yorkshire.

The owner of the oil painting by Wallace Beatty discovered it was missing when he went to a storage room and realised it was not there.

He had last seen it when he moved into the property on Goodmanham Wold, near Market Weighton, in August 2008.

The painting, 15 in square which shows a white horse and is in a heavy gold wooden frame, was reported missing to police in January, but inquiries have failed to track it down.

Officers are now asking for the public’s help.
