£50,000 reward after bank robbed

A REWARD of up to £50,000 has been offered by HSBC leading to the arrest and successful conviction of those responsible for a Huddersfield bank robbery.

Two men, dressed in dark clothing and wearing masks, entered the Northgate Branch, in Almondbury, and demanded cash at about 3.30pm on May 4.

Det Sgt Neil King, who is investigating the incident said: "Thankfully no-one was injured during the incident, however; it was clearly a very traumatic experience for the staff at the bank and this simply will not be accepted here in Kirklees."

"Hopefully the reward set by HSBC will encourage someone to come forward with that vital piece of information which will help progress an arrest."

The two men left the scene in a black Renault Clio later found burnt out in the graveyard at Almondbury.

It is believed they got into a second vehicle, a stolen red BMW 1 series which was subsequently found burnt out near to Honley Railway Station.

Witnesses should contact police on 0845 6060606 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
