Public views sought on trolleybus link

A PUBLIC consultation is to be held about the possible extension of the proposed trolleybus scheme in Leeds.

The Government recently gave its initial backing to the scheme and allocated cash for the north route to Bodington, the south route to Stourton and a city centre link between these routes. In addition the Government also gave approval to a proposed extension of the north route to serve the Holt Park area.

A public consultation event will now be held at the Holt Park District Centre between May 20-22 to seek people's views on the proposed extension.

Alternatively people can email their views on the proposed Holt Park network extension to [email protected]. The deadline for providing comments is June 18.

The Government did not approve cash for an east route to St James's Hospital or the full city centre loop. Work is currently under way to investigate alternative means of funding these sections of the network.
