Pupils bag Fashion Week attention

CHILDREN from four Hull primary schools will make their mark on the city’s Fashion Week after designing summer shopping bags that will be displayed on the catwalk.

The youngsters from Thoresby, Sidmouth, Pearson and St Nicholas primary schools were challenged to design a bag for the event’s finale, at Holy Trinity Church on Saturday, April 30. The winning designs were by Hazal Cebe (Pearson), Kai Lamb (Thoresby), Jack Duncan (Sidmouth) and Madeleine Marsters (St Nicholas), and will form part of the bohemia catwalk shows at 1.30pm in the church.

Fashion Week, which begins on Monday, April 25, is being organised by the city’s Business Improvement District.

BID manager Kathryn Shillito said: “Hull BID Fashion Week is all about creativity and colour and the children certainly displayed that in their work.

“We are delighted with their efforts and we’re looking forward to showing them to everyone who visits the finale.”

Fashion Week will see a series of events held across the city featuring its three main shopping centres, independent retailers, major stores and local designers.
