Pupils post site safety messsages pupils

SAFETY posters designed by Richmond youngsters have been put up on hoardings across the construction site for a major £4.3m extra-care development being built in the town.

The posters, which warn about the dangers of construction sites, are being used at the Greyfriars development on Lile Close – where the new 39-bed extra care scheme for older residents is being built.

Lorraine O’Neil, co-ordinator for Frank Haslam Milan (FHM) which is spearheading the development, said: “We realise how important it is to talk to children in the areas we are delivering projects, to make sure they understand the dangers of playing on and near construction sites.

“We’ve been able to work closely with the school and also get our message out to the wider community.”

The posters were designed by youngsters at Richmond Church of England Primary School.

The Richmond extra-care facility, designed to allow residents to live independent lives while having access to professional on-site support, will replace a sheltered housing scheme at Lile Close and residential care home at Richmond House.
