Puppies dumped with umbilical cords attached

A LEEDS dogs charity is pleading for help after eight newborn puppies were found abandoned.

The one-day-old pups still had their umbilical cords attached when a member of the public found them in a cardboard box behind the Vue Cinema complex in Kirkstall Road, Leeds.

After one of the litter died, staff at Dogs Trust Leeds are desperate to find two or three dogs who are already nursing small litters to take on the seven other pups until they are old enough to be weaned.

They would then be taken back to the centre where staff will continue to look after them until loving new homes can be found.

Anyone who can help is urged to contact the charity on 0113 281 4920.
