Queen does honours at cathedral

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh have opened a multi-million-pound extension to Norwich Cathedral in Norfolk.

The new building – which cost more than 10m – benefited from a 2.3m National Lottery grant. It houses an education centre, refectory and library.

Church officials said it was the largest construction project since the cathedral was built more than 900 years ago.

During yesterday's visit, the Royal couple attended a service, toured the extension and met cathedral workers.
