Race row banker to quit over uproar

Thilo Sarrazin, a board member of Germany's central bank, has agreed to quit after an uproar over his disparaging remarks about Muslims and Jews.

The Bundesbank said it had reached an agreement with Mr Sarrazin, who will leave his post at the end of the month.

Mr Sarrazin said Muslims in Europe were unwilling to or incapable of integrating into Western societies and that all Jews “share a certain gene”.
