Raiders take PC photos of Doncaster park murder victim Casey

PRICELESS photographs and videos of stabbed teenager Casey Kearney were on a laptop computer which has been stolen from her father’s home in Doncaster.

Police yesterday issued an appeal for information following the burglary at Anthony Kearney’s house in Edenthorpe.

One of the items taken was a black Sony Vaio laptop which contained “numerous” photographs of Casey, who was fatally stabbed in Doncaster’s Elmfield Park on February 14.

Mr Kearney said: “Losing Casey has been so painful words cannot begin to explain.

“Photos and videos hold all the precious memories of my beautiful daughter and I desperately want these back.

“Photographs hold an incredible sentimental value to anyone, these pictures even more so as I will never be able to take any more of Casey.”

Casey, 13, had caught a bus into Doncaster town centre on the day she died, and was walking through Elmfield Park on her way to meet a friend when she was attacked. She managed to call the police after being stabbed, while a passer-by telephoned 999 for an ambulance.

The schoolgirl was taken to hospital but died later that day.

DC Scott Barley, who is investigating the burglary, said: “I would urge anyone who has any information to please come forward to assist with the investigation and the return of the laptop to Mr Kearney.”

Anyone with information on the burglary, which took place between 7.45am and 12.35pm on Thursday, should contact police on 101.

Hannah Bonser, 26, has appeared in court charged with Casey’s murder and possession of two knives.

She is in custody and is next due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court in May.
