Little Millie Theaker, two, celebrates with balloons in front of Mallard after the National Railway Museum in York reached a milestone.
The museum confirmed that 50 rail vehicles will be at the Railfest celebration of Britain’s railways between June 2-10. An array of locomotives from the museum’s collection and from across Britain will occupy an enormous space, the size of 11 football pitches.
Steve Davies, director of the museum, said: “We are delighted to have passed the 50 vehicle milestone and the full line up of attendees is now almost complete.
“A majority of the attending rail vehicles have made their mark on history as record breakers and we’re proud to be welcoming such a huge gathering of these track-stars to our museum.”
