Rail museum warms to Arctic mission

Visitors like three-year-old Cameron Micklethwait can escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre and join in the fun, to run alongside York's annual St Nicholas Fayre.

With Arctic Express as the theme, fans of the Polar Express story can bask in the glow of the Chinese Locomotive in the Great Hall, recalling the loco in the story.

Sue Dalton, cultural planning manager at the NRM, said: "The museum's Arctic Express weekend will provide the ideal opportunity for children to remember their favourite Christmas story as they get on board our very own 'Arctic Express', the Chinese Locomotive."
